چکیده

The elevation angle influence on coastal GNSS-R ocean code-based altimetry for GPS signals (L1 C/A and L5) BDS B1 is investigated, the corresponding correction method presented. study first focuses method, including general experiment geometry code delay estimation using single-point tracking algorithm. peak power maximum derivative are used as location of specular point. Then, sensitivity height retrieved above to analyzed based Z-V model. It can be seen that has a significant retrieval, which will affect precision altimetry. Finally, two methods, model-driven data-driven proposed. experiments demonstrate methods correct influence, more effective. experimental results show that, after correcting L1 signal, L5 signal up meter level, decimeter level (less than 4 decimeters), with respect reference tide gauge (TG) data set, respectively, without smoothing over time. These provide information guide sea surface retrieval GNSS-R, especially multi-satellite observation GNSS higher chipping rate.

Ocean Altimetry and Wind Applications of a GNSS Nanosatellite Constellation

Recent developments in electronics and nanosatellite technologies combined with modeling techniques developed over the past 20 years have enabled a new class of altimetry and wind remote sensing capabilities that offer markedly improved performance over existing observatories while opening avenues to new applications. Most existing spaceborne ocean altimetry and wind observatories are in polar ...

1 2 N ov 2 00 3 PARFAIT : GNSS - R coastal altimetry

GNSS-R signals contain a coherent and an incoherent component. A new algorithm for coherent phase altimetry over rough ocean surfaces, called PARFAIT, has been developed and implemented in Starlab's STARLIGHT 1 GNSS-R software package. In this paper we report our extraction and analysis of the coherent component of L1 GPS-R signals collected during the ESTEC Bridge 2 experimental campaign using...

The Eddy Experiment : accurate GNSS - R ocean altimetry from low altitude aircraft

During the Eddy Experiment, two synchronous GPS receivers were flown at 1 km altitude to collect L1 signals and their reflections from the sea surface for assessment of altimetric precision and accuracy. Wind speed (U10) was around 10 m/s, and SWH up to 2 m. A geophysical para-metric waveform model was used for retracking and estimation of the lapse between the direct and reflected signals with...

Circular Regression Applied to GNSS-R Phase Altimetry

This article is dedicated to the design of a linear-circular regression technique and to its application to ground-based GNSS-Reflectometry (GNSS-R) altimetry. The altimetric estimation is based on the observation of the phase delay between a GNSS signal sensed directly and after a reflection off of the Earth’s surface. This delay evolves linearly with the sine of the emitting satellite elevati...

Sea state monitoring using coastal GNSS - R

We report on a coastal experiment to study GPS L1 reflections. The campaign was carried out at the Barcelona Port breaker and dedicated to the development of sea-state retrieval algorithms. An experimental system built for this purpose collected and processed GPS data to automatically generate a times series of the interferometric complex field (ICF). The ICF was analyzed off line and compared ...
